On Process & Outcomes.
The self-doubt we feel when faced with a daunting challenge stems from a fear of uncertainty. We’re uncertain of our abilities. We’re uncertain of our future outcomes. We can’t see the future, so we fear it. We fear many things that we can’t see, know, or understand.
Mastery doesn’t happen in a miraculous moment of sight restored. Mastery is a long process that expands our field of view one radian at a time. In the pursuit of mastery, failures and setbacks are commonplace and inevitable. To accept this is to become limitless. Quench your fears by collapsing uncertainty into certainty. Refocus your attention and effort on your processes. Leave the outcomes for later.
There is certainty in the process.
It is certain that the journey will be long.
It will be hard.
It will take effort to grow.
It is certain that you will make mistakes.
And you will learn from them.
